Honestly, the location is pretty much unbeatable if you want to be in Guangzhou’s modern business district. You’re walking distance from the Canton Tower (that twisty one you see in all the photos), and the Zhujiang New Town metro station is right there when you need to explore other parts of the city. What couples seem to love — and I get why they rated it 8.9 — is how you can stroll along the Pearl River at sunset, then pop back to the hotel for dinner. The whole area transforms at night, with all these gleaming towers lighting up around you.

The Room Experience

The room design is classic W — think sleek lines, rich textures, and that slightly rebellious luxury vibe they’re known for. But here’s what actually matters: the beds are genuinely fantastic. I’m talking about the kind of sleep where you wake up confused about what time zone you’re in. The views depend on which side you’re on, but honestly, even the city-facing rooms give you this amazing urban panorama. The bathrooms are spacious with separate rain showers, and there’s this nice touch where they provide both international and local amenities.

Breakfast here is actually worth getting up for — they do this great mix of continental classics and proper Asian options, plus a buffet spread that changes daily. The restaurant scene is solid too, though you’ll want to explore the neighborhood for authentic Cantonese food (there’s incredible dim sum just a few blocks away). The spa feels like a retreat from the city’s intensity, and I appreciated how they incorporate traditional Chinese wellness concepts with modern treatments. Oh, and parking is free, which is honestly a relief in this part of town.

  A nice 5* hotel overall. As one would expect from W brand, rooms and common areas have extensive design work. Rooms are large, beautiful and very modern. So the physical infrastructure gets 10 out of 10.
